To edit any page on this web site, click the "Edit" button at the bottom of the page. Do this with this sandbox page so that you can see the text markup that produces formatting.
To create a new page, either:
| • | Type the URL of the page as if it already existed. |
| • | Or edit an existing page, enter a link to the new page (see below for how to do that), save the page, and then click on the link. (A red link points to a page that doesn't exist yet.) |
Either way, you'll see a screen for editing the new page.
The formatting capabilities are extremely simple to use:
| • | You can make a link to another page on this site like this: What Stuff Is. |
| • | You can make a link to a page somewhere else by typing its URL like this: http://google.com. |
| • | You can make a named link to another page: Google. |
| • | You can make bold face and italic. |
| • | You can make headings like the one at the beginning of this page. |
| • | You can import a graphic from the web like this: ![]() |
| • | You can make a list of items like the one you're reading now. |
To see how to do any of these things, click the "Edit" button and you'll see what to actually type into the page.
Section headings are produced using equals signs and can have multiple levels. See the examples on this page.
