Welcome to the Heuristic Wiki. Heuristic thinking was displayed by Einstein with his incredibly simple supposition that the speed of light is constant, as opposed to prior thought that the speed of light is variable.
Heuristic is the art and science of discovery.
The word heuristic comes from the same Greek root as Eureka! The root means "to find". Heuristic is the study of ways of steering your attention fruitfully, including the assumptions made about the Search Space you're exploring. See heuristic for more detail.
Note: Another usage of the word heuristic is "a rule of thumb". That is not what we mean by the word heuristic on this wiki.

This is a fairly new wiki.
You are invited to edit pages here: post crazy ideas about heuristic, controversial ideas about heuristic, awful half-baked ideas about heuristic, questions about heuristic, whatever you'd like to hash out.
This is a wiki, which means that others will edit pages that you create or edit. Then you can edit what they edit, and an interesting body of writing grows. To see what's been edited lately, see Recent Changes.
This is a cute interface. Thanks! -->Desperate attempt to edit this page.
can you get backlinks? if so how? Not at the moment. It's on my list of features to add once I get a couple days to work on the wiki again... --Ben Kovitz
