What depresses me, what makes me feel bad; survey started by Robert Abitbol, Wednesday July 16th 2008, 1h 25 am
By Robert Abitbol: What depresses me? Not much except losing stuff, having stuff stolen, forgetting a thought etc. Sad to say, I am attached to objects, notebooks etc.
I guess this has to do with anxiety. I have an anxious type of personality. Thank God I am not anxious often!
In French we say: J'ai de qui tirer (loosely translated as I have quite an heredity in regards to this trait of my personality): my father is an anxious man (very anxious at that; he looks depressed 99.9% of the time), my mother was a worrier, probably a depressive woman.
Anxiety, obsessive-compulsiveness, workalcoholism, hoarding, those things are all related.
However, I don't dislike those traits for I believe they are my forte and also my catalyst in many ways. Most achievers are anxious people. I get my best ideas when I am tired, anxious...
Feeling lonely? Not often. Rarely. I enjoy my own company so I rarely feel lonely.
But anxiety is definitely my Achille's heel!
Now that I have cut all links with my siblings, I feel better than ever and I rarely suffer from anxiety.
But I do still suffer from it from time to time. Perhaps I should cut all links with my brains :-) (or what's left of it! :-))
There is a clarification I should add here.
Like most people I am not anxious for a specific reason; it's the other way around; I sometimes feel anxious so any reason is a subject of anxiety.
To be continued some other time. When I'll feel anxious... :-)
