The Sophistry Wiki

Ben Kovitz

I wrote Green Light Wiki, the wiki engine that The Sophistry Wiki runs on, and I'm the host of this wiki.

I'm also interested in heuristic and logic, and would love to hear any ideas you have to offer about them. Better yet, post them on this wiki or on The Heuristic Wiki!

Questions/complaints about the wiki

Howcum square brackets are required for same-site links, instead of just using CamelCase? --Mark Tilley

I got rid of CamelCase on the principle that this is really a content-oriented wiki, not the more experimental, geeky wiki that c2 was and is. CamelCase introduces weird complications like how to handle the indefinite article (APage?) and how to indicate when you really mean a page to have a CamelCase word in its title and when you don't. These are fun thorns for programmers to get around, but I think they distract from just creating pages with interesting, readable content. --Ben Kovitz

Thanks, that sounds good. Do you suppose you could set up a Sand Box or Green Light Features page that could be accessed from all Green Light Wikis that would demonstrate that and other features (e.g. using "=" for headlines is new to me).

I suppose you're aware that the five buttons on the bottom of each page aren't all on the same line? (Oh, I just noticed, that appears to be an IE problem - it's fine in Mozilla.) A "Preview" button on the edit screen would be handy too for proofreading without cluttering up the version record ... (Don't get me wrong, I think you've done a great job. I put Green Light Wiki on Top Ten Wiki Engines for the diff and versioning, but someone else deleted it.) -- Mark Tilley
